The Cleveland Golf Tony Ruggiero Tip of The Week

Cleveland Golf LogoHit your Irons and Driver Better...

This tip comes straight from this weeks Champions Tour Event, The Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am. I saw so many people making the same mistake yesterday I immediately thought this would be agreat tip. Most amateurs make the mistake of having their left shoulder go down rather than turn across their body during the back swing. The result is they tilt rather than turn. Their weight remains on their left foot rather than turning it to their right side. This makes it imposssible to turn through the ball because of the simple fact that you are already in front of it, you never get behind the ball.

Tony RuggieroThe fix... Try and force yourself to turn your shoulders more level going back. Try and turn your left shoulder level across your body or to the ball. A more level and full turn will produce a backswing that has the weight loaded on your right side at the top of the backswing.

The result is you will hit better irons and further drives.
